It's my baby Griffin's 3rd birthday today.

In celebration of his birthday, we are starting out the day at Ikea for breakfast, then braving the mall to get him a new pair of Crocs.

gosh... I haven't been too active with my poor blog lately.

I'm sorry to all of you.. ( a little forgiveness gift below)

I have no idea what kept me away last week, but this week we've been super busy since it's Fall Break from school. We've gone to the park, the zoo, the pool, and misc errands... plus, I've been working every single night.

Besides all the running around with that stuff, I finally had my appearance in court for the dog attack I witnessed last April. It was one scary dog attack too. I was the only person who witnessed the very beginning how it happened.

the following is from my April 18th blogging:
yesterday morning I was a witness to a dog attack close to my house at a greenbelt
well, it really opened up my eyes about having my guard up when we see dogs when we are out for a walk
I was over at the big patch of grass that dips down... Hudson wanted to play "chase me" & I'm so glad we didn't get started with that...........
there was a woman with 3 larger dogs resting on the smaller patch of grass on the opposite side of the sidewalk right there...... and another woman walking her two Yorkies through the big greenbelt and as soon as they got in the sight of the big dogs, one and then the other two took off for an attack..... (they were on a leash, but not a firm grasp & the owner was looking the other direction talking on the phone)................the attack dogs owner came to try and get her dogs and I ran over and pulled two of the big dogs off.... luckily a woman on the other side of the street came over to take care of my boys while they were screaming
when all was over... a nice woman driver took the little Yorkies to the vet... Nick is ok, but Nora had an intestinal issue with surgery and an infection last night, hopefully she recovers ok............. the owner had a chunk taken out of her arm.........I talked with her this morning, she had her first skin graft last night and will have to have another couple later
I stayed around for quite a while, the last witness...but I have no idea what happened with the attacking dogs... Animal Control was with with them when I left to take Hudson to school (the one that bit her was a Pit mix)
sooooooooooooooooooo.... now I am really going to have my guard up whenever I see dogs when we are out for a walk........please be aware of your surroundings... it only takes a brief moment with no warning for something like this to happen

anyway, the owner of the pit mix was given 7 citations, her dog was put to sleep in May... and she has been fighting 2 of the 7 citations since then.... Tuesday was finally the day in front of the judge... one of the citations she was fighting was about her not having control of her dogs... HELLO... she so didn't... it wouldn't have happened if she had control of them..........
I was released after my testimony so I don't know what the outcome was. I really need to call the prosecuter's office to check on it

I was reading C Jane Run a little bit ago and found out that her surreal roller coaster ride just got bumpier yesterday. Besides her sister (Nie-Nie)and brother-in-law being in the hospital for burns because of a plane crash, her 31yo cousin Katie just passed away this weekend.

I really love Nie-Nie's blog. C Jane has reposted some past highlights so that everyone out in blog lands can know what a special person she is. THIS is my favorite blog post and I sooooo want to do this with my boys. oh... I will do it... I've got to figure out an open day soon so we can do it.

Now ... about Little California (Callie)... she was backed over and ran over by a car driven by a dear family friend of her family a couple weeks ago. Callie was airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital and is fighting like crazy to get better. Her older sister Ashley (21.5 years older) has been blogging about her & is organizing a fabulous raffle for her. There are some really adorable boutique items available. Please check this out. I'm sure her story, as well as Nie-Nie's will touch your hearts deeply.

"Are you going to beat me up?"

Hudson is so funny. Everytime we play soccer or anything with a hint of a competition, he always asks "are you going to beat me up?" or says "I'm going to beat you up". No matter how many times we've told him that how he should say it without "up", he still says it. It is pretty comical now, but just waits until he says it at his Itty Bitty Sports class with Coach Alex and other little boys. It's a very cute class, just an intro to sports - 6 sports in 8 weeks. He's already had soccer and basketball. Next week is Lacrosse. He will then have baseball (maybe t-ball), golf, and tennis. The class is just for 3-5 year olds. Hudson just turned 4 this past Sunday and he is definitely the biggest kid in the class. He is tall, but all the others must be tiny 3 year olds. Anyway, just picture Coach Alex giving his a little drill & he tells her "I'm going to beat you up". I probably won't hear him sitting on the bleachers..LOL.. too funny.

hello Tuesday

I'm so proud of Hudson! Today was his 4 year check up. He is 42.5 inches (90th percentile) and 41 lbs (75th - 90th percentile). I was a bit surprised that he wasn't at least 100th percentile for his height. Anyway, he had 4 shots in his arms and he didn't cry whatsoever, just a little shock and that was it. Poof! all over! On the way home he asked why he was wearing bandaids because it wasn't any big deal to him.

I was the one that caused more of an issue. Well, Saturday morning I sliced my finger while cutting pineapple. My FIL wrapped a couple badaids around it and some tape since it bled profusely. This morning I tried to change the bandages and they wouldn't come off so I had to have the CMA cut it off for me after she gave Hudson his shots. I winced a bit since it's still very tender. Hudson was a pro compared to me. It was kind of funny. The 41 year old was worse than the 4 year old.

The long birthday weekend

oh my ... it's been one long birthday weekend! What a lucky 4 year old we have. Hudson had his first party, a pool party with a few of his friends, on Friday morning. They played and played in the pools, then ate yummy cupcakes, and opened presents.

Saturday morning was the family party. I made a yummy breakfast with a scrumptious breakfast casserole, home-made banana muffins, cheesy hashbrowns, and fresh fruit (recipes a bit later). A little snafoo happened during the prep time shen I majorly sliced my finger cutting the pineapple. I probably should've left to get stitches. It's still throbbing almost 36 hours later.

Anyway, between the two parties, Hudson ended up with his very first racetrack (a Darda Super Starter Speedway - very super cool with no batteries, I can't wait to build on to it), the Playmobil Recycling Truck that he really really wanted since he wants to be a garbage truck driver when he gets bigger, his first soccer ball & t-ball set, and many other fun things.

Today was his actual birthday. All of us went to The Healing Field in Tempe this morning. I took Hudson and Griffin last year and captured an amazing picture

I just had to take them again and I want to continue this every year. It truly is an amazing place. Each flag pole had a card on it with a lost one's name, age, hometown, occupation (or student's school info, etc) , and picture. I felt so sorry for the few without any pic. All of the little kids had a little stuffed animal attached to the bottom of their poles. I took a slew of pics there today, but unfortunately my camera is having difficulties connecting to my computer to upload them. Hopefully I will be able to share them soon.

I should be so extremely exhausted right now. I worked from 5pm yesterday until 2am early this morning for inventory. At least Jeff took care of the boys this morning and they let me sleep in. yay! that is such a huge extreme rarity! I only slept in until 8:45, but that's alot better than 6ish like usual.

I'm a bit annoyed right now because there is alot of design stuff I need to be working on right now, but having one finger bandaged up is making using the keyboard a bit difficult. oh well

BANANA MUFFINS

1 cup mashed banana (2 bananas), 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup Miracle Whip, 2 cups flour; 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda............
Mix together and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes

I'm not much of a casserole fan, but this is yummy & I always receive tons of compliments on it too. It's very light and fluffy

Breakfast Casserole

12 slices bread
butter
6 eggs
salt
pepper
1 quart milk
6 slices American Cheese
6 slices Monterey Jack cheese
optional: meats and veggies...your choice

Cut crust off bread and butter them. Place 6 slices buttered side down, in a 9x13 inch pan. Place 1 slice American and 1 slice of Monterey Jack cheeses on each piece of bread. Place optional items next. Place the last 6 slices of bread on top with buttered side up. Mix eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together and then pour over top. Refrigerate overnight. The next morning, bake in 350 degree oven for approximately 1 hour.

I used 1lb of maple sausage (browned), 1lb cubed ham, and 1/3 sweet onion (diced).

and... one good thing......well, kind of good, I guess........... the auto body shop quoted us $2500 foer the repair job, but it only actually was $690, including the tow.... apparently the one they fixed before ours had a really bad hack job, the idiots cut into their O2 sensor & out idiots cut ours out nicely so it was an easier fix

picture day!

Today was picture day at (pre)school. Last spring the picture people parted and feathered his hair so he looked like somebody else's cute little boy, not our crazy goofy Hudson.
So.... today he went to school with a note pinned to him (see pictures). Griffin wanted a note too, so his said "I wanted to wear a note like Hudson"

I'm so excited... Griffin is almost out of diapers. He has gone potty in the toilet every time for the last 3 days. I think it will take a while to get the poop part under control, but we're almost there. YAY! After this package of diapers is done, it's only pull-ups for him. So cool!

well....

our 4Runner was officially towed off on Friday (see the most recent blogging to see about my crazy story). The body shop said that he is getting used to fixing them. The last one took 1.5 weeks and is hoping to have ours done within one week. The creeps only get about $150 for the part & we have to pay our deductible of $500. At least we won't have to pay the full bill which will be right at $2500!

I was at work tonight.... at The Gap in a nice little boutique shopping strip (not a mall)..... and the nice old security guard walked into the store shortly before we closed at 8pm to ask if anyone owns the Toyota 4Runner outside.................. HELLO! ... I asked if it was a black one... and ... yep! ...........
welllllllllllll... some idiotic A** sawed off my catalytic converter!!!!! nice, huh?
a guy from AJs (an upscale grocery store in our strip) heard a strange noice and then he saw some guy pop into his car and take off ..... he called security ... unfortunately nobody got the license plate ... just that it was a couple of Hispanic guys in a dark car

UGH! the security guy said that nice metals are in the inside of them.... well, the police told me it's actually platinum

according to the policeman, it only takes approximately 1.5 minutes for them to saw it off and go

I ended up driving it home instead of leaving it or having it towed... since I only live 5-10 minutes away....... dang! it was noisy... it's just like not having an exhaust system on it and it barely wanted to move... I drove home with my hazard flashers on driving approximately 32 mph

I have no idea how anyone can prevent this from happening... my car was parked in the parking lot which was not even half full... with cars driving around

sooooooooooooooooo freakin' annoying!

I am such a doughnut

This morning I couldn't figure out where my purse was. I thought that possibly someone took it when I stopped inside a convenience stores yesterday until I remembered that I later went to Fry's (local grocery store). Then.... DUH!!!!!!! I left my purse in my shopping cart IN the parking lot. HELLO! what a doughnut! I stopped back by there after I picked Hudson up from preschool and lucky me, soemone turned it in to the lost and found & everything was in it. If someone would've taken my wallet, they wouldn't have gotten away with much at all. It would've been more of a pain for me to replace my ID and debit card.

Well then....... I was a doughnut again tonight... hello! that's two big things in two days.......... I was all excited to get some Cold Stone (yummy ice cream) after work since I had a coupon and it's only a couple doors away from The Gap. Wellllll, after I paid for my ice cream I looked for my keys and then it dawned on me that I left them in my locker at work. UGH! OK... I said I was a doughnut, didn't I? Well I didn't want dh to have to wake up the boys and drive them to rescue me with a spare set. Luckily I had one co-worker's number in my phone. I called her & she gave me one asst. manager's number, talked with her & she gave me another number for an asst. who closed up with me and lives pretty close. She came to let me in and grab my key. OH, crazy me!

Last week I mentioned that I was supposed to go to court this week to be a witness for a dog attack that happened earlier this spring. I saw the whole thing occur and it wasn't pretty at all. Well, it was postponed until possibly October. I just have to wait around until I receive another subpoena in the mail notifying me of the next hearing. Who knows, this thing will probably be dragged out for at least a year.

Well, do you remember back in April when I witnessed that scary dog attack?
The pit was put to sleep in May. I thought everything was over.
Case closed.
ummmmmm... NOPE!
Friday I received a nice summons to appear in court on the 26th as a witness.
I hope it isn't going to be a huge circus. I wasn't able to attend the first hearing when she the owner was found guilty and when they determined that the dog had to be put down, but it was crazy from everything I read. They tried to make it seem like it was just a case about pit bull discrimination. It wasn't at all! I saw the whole attack occur and that crazy dog and two other big dogs ran for their lunch (the woman with two little dogs). The attacked woman ended up with a chunk out of one arm and one little doggie was injured too.

grab it HERE (you do have to be a FPD newsletter subscriber to receive it) everything was inspired by the clipart samples... I had to tweak them in some way & make them into something new, include 3 brushes, 3 patterned papers (I have 2 bonus solids too), and 5 elements

I really loved seeing how some designers really changed their clipart into something completely different... it's very inspirational

a couple of my faves are from Sherry Tierney and pameladonnis because of how they took simple shapes and really transformed them...... there are some other kits that I really really like, but I just liked their transformations the best

Some really great talent can be found in the gallery over there. Every assignment is available as a freebie for one week, as long as you are a FPD newsletter subscriber. Even the designers who are cut from the competition can still play along and offer their freebie assignments too.

Well, I made the first cut off (cut from approximately 100 designers down to 50). Wish me luck making it to round 3.

After retiring, An elderly man went to the Social Security office to apply for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked him for his driver's license to verify his age. He looked in his pockets and realized he left his wallet at home.

He told the woman that He was very sorry, but He would have to go home and come back later.

The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'. So he opened his shirt revealing his curly silver hair.

She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and
she processed his Social Security application.

When he got home, he excitedly told his wife about his experience at the Social Security office.

She said, 'you should have dropped your pants. Then you might have gotten disab ility, too.'

So, I looked down at him and said, 'Well then, which one are you?'
